Hi, I'm Kyle

I take complex concepts and turn them into graphics, animations and equitable user experiences.

Here are a few ways I could support you at Jam

1. Motion + Animation

I am a seasoned motion designer. I have planned, designed, rigged and delivered animated content for large corporates, public sector bodies, production houses, and YouTube content creators alike. My design files are consistently well-labelled and always ready for a confident handover. I’m also able to animate my work and provide it as those editable .mogrt files that editors love.

2. Design + Illustration

From my background of 5+ years producing slick, video-led digital learning for the UK education sector, I know how to produce high-quality illustrations in a multitude of visual styles. Be it vector-based, mixed media collages or even hand-drawn work, my motion brain keeps everything neatly created and ready for animation if and when the opportunity arises.

Vector plant pots created for a mental health awareness digital learning course. Each plant is designed to represent a different emotion or aspect of mental health.

A digitally painted illustration of a puffin, a guillemot and a razorbill.
A digital painting of a shoal of mackerel circling under a pier.
A digital painting of two crabs fighting in shallow water.

3. Branding + Guidelines

There’s no point spending loads of time designing or animating something without knowing how it works, why it works, and how to help others achieve the same results too. I’m very familiar with following design systems provided to me (I once oversaw a creative team’s adherence to 12 different internal brand guidelines at a large UK SaaS company), and I also know how to produce a great set of guidelines when needed too.

My more recent work using Figma has also introduced me to automated design systems, which take all this to the next level!

4. UX + Digital Products

In my time as a digital learning manager for the SaaS products at IRIS, I started to notice that many solutions we were explaining to customers in our learning were just design choices that needed fixing in the products. In these years I began to retrain in UX to support in making products more equitable and intuitive to users.

Most recently I had the opportunity to work in a great small startup to research, define and design the UX and UI for Buckshee, which is now in the MVP testing phase.

👋

I hope you like what you've seen.
I'd love to work with you!
