Hi, I'm Kyle

I make graphic and motion art for video podcasts and YouTube content.

Here’s why I think I’d be a fantastic pick for your graphic designer role…

1. I know the styles you’re looking for.

From my background of 5+ years producing slick, video-led digital learning for the UK education sector, I know how to produce high-quality editorial collage or cut-out composition art that tells a story. These were essential tools in our arsenal for making quick and engaging visuals to depict complex concepts without losing loads of time illustrating from scratch.

Here are a few examples I made just for you from the first 50 images I found on Pexels today!

2. I can optimise designs for motion.

I am a seasoned graphic designer and a motion designer. I’ve created many visual identities specifically to work best in motion. My design files are consistently well-labelled and always ready for a confident handover. I’m also able to animate my work and provide it as those editable .mogrt files that editors love.

Here’s a quick reel of a few typographic and editorial examples of motion graphics I produced for YouTube documentary content this past year.

3. I build identities with repeatable logic.

There’s no point spending loads of time designing something without knowing how it works, why it works, and how to help others achieve the same results too. I’m very familiar with following design systems provided to me (I once oversaw a creative team’s adherence to 12 different internal brand guidelines at a large UK SaaS company), and I also know how to produce a great set of guidelines when needed too. My more recent work using Figma has also introduced me to automated design systems, which take all this to the next level!

While I know typography, page layouts, design guidelines, image manipulation (everything above) I often illustrate for clients too. Sometimes this is layered up for motion outcomes too.

5. I don’t just design, I illustrate too.

I’ve listened to podcasts more or less since the beginning. I spent my university years binge-listening to podcasts in the background while I was working on my essays and projects (it’s no different now I’m a decade past graduation). It’s been cool to see some of my favourite podcasts embrace video and cross over with the video-essay and long form independent documentary content finding a lot of success on YouTube in recent years.

I also produce my own podcast too. Mona’s Isle is a serialised story podcast funded by the Isle of Man Arts Council and Culture Vannin and features guest appearances from John Rhys-Davies and Samantha Barks.

6. I genuinely love podcasts and podcasting.

👋

I hope you like what you've seen.
I'd love to work with you!
